Requirements:
Two years of experience in a healthcare setting as a medical interpreter is preferred. Must pass the Signature Healthcare Interpreter Services department's interpreter testing process, both in its written and oral format. Satisfactory fluency in English and Cape Verdean Creole/Portuguese at a level that ensures accurate and understandable interpretation. Strong cultural awareness competencies and familiarity with diversity of cultural/socioeconomic backgrounds. Formal medical interpreting training required, either as a 60 hours minimum medical interpreting course, or an associate's degree in interpretation with a Certificate of Completion. The Certificate of Completion must be submitted with your application or resume. Satisfactory knowledge of medical terminology.
