Brockton Hospital Mammographer in Brockton, Massachusetts

Position Summary:

Provides and performs quality radiographs to assist and facilitate a diagnosis of patient illness by utilizing prescribed standards and techniques of x-ray equipment.Provide quality images (mammography) to present to radiologist for interpretation.

Department: Radiology Hospital

This is a full time flex position

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures including explanation

  • Utilize proper technical factors as required by equipment and proper positioning technique for optimum visualization of specified body part requested.

  • Practice safe operating procedures and shielding.

  • Develop films as necessary using proper identification process.

  • Gather pertinent information, correlate paperwork and films for presentation to Radiologist for interpretation.

  • Adhere to Company’s policies and procedures in regard to safety and regulatory agencies.

  • Maintain supplies and equipment

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge with CECs

  • Troubleshoot malfunctions, call for repair on equipment when necessary.

  • Pull/file films if needed, as well as assist with clerical duties(time permitting)

  • Assist during emergency situations.

  • Honor patient confidentiality.

  • Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with staff, patients and other provider offices.

  • Provide quality mammography films

  • Locate and make available prior studies for comparison

  • Perform QC on equipment/images if necessary

    BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Accurate typing skills required.

  • Requires a minimum one year to be proficient in duties.

  • Prior related experience in health care billing preferred.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables within established policies and protocols.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Must be able to reasonably make appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patients, physicians, other associates, outside agencies, and vendors.

    Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other:

  • Education: Sat for and received advanced certification in Mammography

  • Experience (Type & Length): Requires two years of specialized training equivalent to an Associates Degree at an AMA approved school of radiological technology. 3D tomography mammography experience, GE preferred. Stereotactic biopsy experience is a PLUS.

  • Certification/Licensure: Must be a registered radiological technologist with a current MA license to practice as a Radiologic Technologist and a Mammography Radiologic Technologist.
