Brockton Hospital Clinical Performance Improvement Specialist in Brockton, Massachusetts

Position Summary:
The Clinical Performance Improvement Specialist (CPI Specialist) manages clinical performance improvement and quality activities for the medical group. This position interacts with physicians, administrative leaders, and other clinical staff and provides support and guidance to clinical improvement initiatives. The Clinical Performance Improvement Specialist uses a combination of nursing, quality, and informatics knowledge to manage data, process, and information systems with a correlation to clinical excellence, performance metrics and continuous performance improvement. In this role, the objectives would include improving clinical care as well as clinical documentation and reporting for Ambulatory quality measures for primary and specialty care. Primary functions will include review of charts/processes, gathering/collecting data, working reports and assisting with the assessment and monitoring of quality metrics. This position will work closely with the Medical Director, Department Chiefs and VP of Quality, and will collaborate with physicians, service line directors and other members of the health care team and patients to promote the delivery of quality, efficient and cost-effective healthcare services in a patient-centered environment.

This is a full-time 40 hour/ week position
Responsibilities:
Reviews charts for adherence to care guides
Collaborates with Chiefs on Dashboard development and maintenance
Measures, analyzes, and facilitates improvement in clinical performance and outcomes
Promotes quality culture to population based multidisciplinary quality/performance improvement teams.
Apply improvement methods to achieve successful outcomes.
Use evidence-based structured improvement methods for all quality improvement projects.
Promote the use of improvement methods and science throughout the organization.

Identifies key clinical quality and patient safety measures.
Promotes the use of appropriate measures for clinical services. Uses the results of quality improvement activities to initiate changes in patient care practices and in the healthcare delivery system.
Prioritizes and executes performance improvement plans related to clinical performance.
Performs documentation and process analysis, identifies clinical best practices and works with stakeholders to improve processes.

Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other:
Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program .
Experience: 2 years of relevant nursing experience and 2 years of relevant quality improvement experience
Certification/Licensure: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) . BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
