Brockton Hospital Cardiac Stress Test Registered Nurse in Brockton, Massachusetts

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Cardiologists perform cardiac stress testing including regular, persantine, dobutamine, and cardiac stress echos. Additionally, the position requires arranging for hospitalization for positive test results
Location: 680 Centre Street, Brockton, MA
Department: Cardiology
This is a full-time 40 hour/ week position
Responsibilities:
Perform cardiac stress testing as directed by physician.
Review charts for compliance for test required.
Explain procedures to patients/provide patient education
Initiate IV placement as needed.
Maintain equipment – notify proper authorities when a problem arises.
Order supplies.
Administer and document medications as ordered.
Acquire patient history
Recognize emergency and respond appropriately
Maintain patient confidentiality
Perform billing duties
Any other duties under the RN/LPN job description
Responsible for BGPMA, Administrative, Clinical, and Human Resource policies pertinent to the position and responsibilities.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE:
Ability to use appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patients, physicians, other associates, outside agencies and suppliers.
Ability to demonstrate well developed interpersonal skills to work in a fast paced environment involving interaction with laboratory associates, clients, and patients.
Ability to demonstrate effective, professional written and oral communication skills.
Visual acuity sufficient for work which deals largely with reading and writing.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other:
Education: Current RN/LPN licensure by the Massachusetts State Board of Nursing
Experience (Type & Length): Previous EKG interpretation experience.
Certification /Licensure: Current ACLS certification
