About this role

Our Assistant Director of Assessment conducts comprehensive assessment services to individuals designated as Sexually Violent Predators and is an active member of the treatment team, providing staff education as needed on psychological issues and consultation to the treatment teams.

What you bring to the table

Education:

  • A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology from an accredited university.

Experience:

  • Experience in a correctional and/or forensic environment highly desirable.

  • Supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.

  • One (1) year professional experience as a psychologist. Experience in correctional and/or mental health facility desirable.

  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with personnel and support agencies. Must demonstrate emotional stability.

  • Ability to prioritize workload.

  • Must be able to work with computers and the necessary software used by the facility.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • License to practice psychology in Massachusetts

What you will do

  1. Provides Annual Treatment Summaries for civilly committed residents.

  2. Conducts comprehensive evaluations to assist in sex offender treatment planning.

  3. Conducts testing to provide diagnostic clarity when indicated.

  4. Serves as a consultant to the multidisciplinary teams and Clinical Leadership.

  5. Supervises and trains psychology post-doctoral fellows, when appropriate.

  6. Supervises assessment and psychology staff.

  7. May conduct sex offender treatment or ancillary treatment groups as assigned.

  8. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.

  9. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.

  10. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.

  11. Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.

  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
