Reports to: Director of Federal & State Grants, Programs, and Compliance
The BPS Finance Team ensures that the $1.6 billion all funds budget is effectively allocated and managed to yield the best results for our students. We are looking to expand our capacity to mitigate risks,develop internal controls procedures, and manage and report on expenditures.
The Office of Federal & State Grants, Programs, and Compliances works with program managers and departments across the district to ensure efficient and effective use of external funding to the Boston Public Schools in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. We are looking for a State & Federal Programs Project Manager to support the non-financial requirements of the life cycle of a grant from application to reporting.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Liaison for grant program managers for a portfolio of grants
For grants / programs in portfolio:
Collect data for program monitoring functions
Supports collection of program outcomes
Supports application development, and subsequent amendment development
Act as initial point of contact for questions about the grant
Ensures allowable uses are updated in department and finance-facing guidance
Oversee status updates for list of State & Federal Program requirements
As capacity and interest allows, may support higher Tiered grant-writing and development needs
Other duties as directed to support grants management
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
2+ Experience with project management
Strong technical writing
Ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ESSA specifically
Experience providing trainings
Experience with financial systems and analysis
