This Staff Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Helping to grow our busy International Center by working with Case Coordinators, primary care physicians, specialty clinic RN's and/or medical staff to: develop intake inquires, triage emails/calls, coordinate patient access, and help inform and update clinical communications to Embassies.

  • Providing coordination of care of all international patients managed within their defined international center team.

  • Helping to identify/anticipate all outpatient appointments required for pended inbound patients.

  • Facilitating the intake process by providing comprehensive clinical oversight.

  • Participating in clinical arrivals clinic, at the initial BCH visit for new international patients.

  • Reviewing the clinical itinerary for all complex cases (complex= 3 or more program/department/division consults).

  • Participating in International Medical Service rounds for international inpatients.

  • Assisting in creating referrals to the appropriate BCH department, clinic or specialty program. The nurse will address and review urgent concerns of the families and/or the referring clinicians; and will assess, analyze and plan appropriate interventions by working with their international team of nurse practitioners and physicians, to ensure that all parties are made aware and in agreement with the plan of care.

  • Assessing and triaging patients who may need urgent evaluation in primary care or the ED.

  • The position is 40 hours per week with flexibility to work 10 or 8 hour shifts.

To qualify, you must have:

  • A Bachelors in Nursing (BSN).

  • Case management experience and assisting in the care coordination of patients with complex medical needs requiring coordination of multiple appointments.

  • 5+ years of pediatric RN experience is preferred, but will consider newer RN’s with the above case management experience.

  • Experience managing pediatric complex care, and/or outpatient clinic experience preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills required.

  • Must be highly organized with strong written and verbal skills.
