The Sr. Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for:
Preparing and administering required radiopharmaceuticals and performs radionuclide imaging of organs and organ systems, dynamic studies, assays of body fluids and tissues, including in-vitro and in-vivo radioassays.
Recording, analyzing and preparing data and image enhancements for diagnostic interpretation by physician.
Reviewing and evaluating orders for imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs. Selecting appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy. Receiving, inspecting and handling radioactive materials used in patient examinations following established hospital, departmental and regulatory requirements.
Creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family. Assessing patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develops plan for adjusting to patients' specific needs. Identifying, preparing, and labeling radioactive imaging materials required to perform prescribed examinations.
Furthering professional education and maintains knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies and procedures.
Providing instruction on pediatric imaging procedures and techniques to residents, fellows, staff and others as requested.
To qualify, you must have:
The level of knowledge typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree leading to certification (CNMT) and/or registration (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years previous experience.
Current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license.
Current certification to perform CT attenuation correction imaging.
The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in depth, experienced based knowledge.
The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
