Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel, Animal Medicine \u0026amp;amp; Healthcare Services to join our Legal Team based in Boston, MA. This position is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a fast-paced, dynamic Legal Department supporting business opportunities and regulatory compliance issues in the animal healthcare and treatment arena. This position will report to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel.\u0026amp;nbsp;

What You\u0026#39;ll Do:

  • Legal lead supporting “Chewy’s Connect with a Vet” service and related activities, such as record keeping requirements and customer engagement via various mediums (e.g., video, email, text message, via an application, etc.)

  • Advise in-house veterinarians and veterinary technicians on licensing and related issues

  • Advise on VCPR requirements in all jurisdictions and monitor the development of related guidance

  • Manage Board of Veterinary Medicine relationships

  • Research, including 50-state surveys, legal and compliance issues associated with the provision of online multijurisdictional animal healthcare services and products to pets and pet parents

  • Partner with the business to develop business expansion opportunities and corresponding risk mitigation strategies; support M\u0026amp;amp;A activity

  • Support healthcare team with compliance initiatives and obligations

  • Support customer service in researching and resolving consumer inquiries

  • Collaborate with other members of the Legal Department to provide holistic legal advice to the business

  • Collaborate with and manage external legal counsel

  • Monitor applicable legislation and advise on potential business impact

  • Intellectually curious and willingness to learn new areas of law and business

What You\u0026#39;ll Need:

  • 8+ years relevant legal experience

  • Member of the FL/MA Bar or ability to obtain in-house license

  • Experience with counseling multijurisdictional veterinary medicine and animal healthcare providers

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills

  • Some travel required
