DHHP is an interdisciplinary team that assesses a child’s language and developmental status and subsequently assists families to create a roadmap that emphasizes communication, language proficiency, and social-emotional well-being. The Speech Language Pathologist joining our team is expected to exemplify these values. Our diverse patient population and their families communicate in signed and/or spoken languages, and may utilize assistive technologies like hearing aids, cochlear implants, or BAHAs. All members of the DHHP should value the importance of communication in our lives and commit to providing equitable support to all individuals, while being considerate of one’s hearing level and primary language.
Schedules will be determined by the provider’s manager or program director. Schedules may include covering clinic outside of standard M-F business hours
This Speech and Language Pathologist I will be responsible for:
Comprehensive evaluation and management of pediatric communication skills that reflect an in-depth understanding of a D/deaf and hard of hearing child’s speech, language, and communication profile and needs.
Providing case coordination, parent/caregiver counseling, and follow-up services to the local community.
Completing timely and thorough documentation related to patient caseload including comprehensive evaluation reports, treatment plans, daily treatment notes, and therapy discharge summaries.
Working in close collaboration and partnership with physicians, audiologists, psychologists, and other health care professionals.
Maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge and education via continuing education pursuits.
Participating in Program meetings, committees, and projects.
To qualify, you must have:
A Master’s degree in Speech Pathology or a closely related field.
2-3 years of directly related clinical experience preferred.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA).
A current Massachusetts state licensure to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to be fluent in American Sign Language.
