Humana Software Quality Tester in Boston, Massachusetts

The CareHub testing team at Humana is seeking an experienced Software Quality Tester (Quality Engineering Technician 4). This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare space and help deliver a seamless user experience for clinicians and clinical advocates.

This is a remote opportunity with some weekend and evening hours required - about one weekend morning per month.

The Software Tester (QET 4) performs and leads tests of software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects. On this team, you will own and manage your own projects from inception to deployment, ensuring all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements. Work directly with scrum masters and alongside a team of developers, product owners and managers to fully understand the business needs and wants. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Act as primary administrative owner of a main process, program, product or technology.

  • Determine the daily priorities for an administrative work group and/or external vendors including coordinating work activities and monitoring progress towards schedules/goals.

  • Create test data for applications.

  • Document and work to resolve all complex problems.

  • Report progress on problem resolution to management.

  • Devise improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configurations.

  • Perform complex workflow analysis and recommend quality improvements.

  • Act as information resource about assigned areas to technical writers.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience performing software testing

  • 1+ years of experience managing a testing project from inception to deployment

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • SAFe certification

  • Experience with Agile methodology

  • Healthcare industry experience

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

  • Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$64,300 - $87,700 per year
