Boston University SENIOR DENTAL ASSISTANT, School of Dental Medicine, Periodontology in BOSTON, Massachusetts
The Goldman School of Dental Medicine is looking for a Senior Dental Assistant to join their growing team! The primary role of the Senior Dental Assistant will be to function as the primary dental assistant, supporting the implantology suite within the Periodontology department. The successful candidate will oversee all procedures in the implant suites and provide chairside dental assisting within the implantology suites.
Main responsibilities will be to:
Prepare operatories for surgery using sterile technique and maintain supplies
Maintain and sterilize department owned equipment and instruments
Maintain the organization of all surgical kits and track kit usage
Assemble all implant, sinus lift, tunneling, bone splitting, implant rescue, tack and screw kits
Change burs in implant kits at established intervals
Distribute bone and log bone/implants placed in surgery
Communicate with Implant Coordinator if implant components are needed during surgery.
Set up and be able to operate machinery necessary for procedures (i.e. various implant motors, piezotome and YOMI machines)
Take radiographs during and after surgery including CBCTs as needed.
Breakdown implant suite after surgery
Perform dental assistant responsibilities in the Periodontology clinic and at Commonwealth Ave IV sedation program as needed.
This is a full time position which may require filling in for the IV Sedation program at Commonwealth Ave Boston. Voc or Tech training and 3-5 years of work experience required.
