The SCR Safety Inspector will provide oversight of the SCR?s Safety Management Plan and will be responsible for monitoring construction site safety activities to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. The SCR Safety Inspector will work with and report to the SCR Safety team and will also be accountable to the MBTA Safety Director of Safety Engineering and MBTA Safety Deputy Director of Construction Safety. Sample of Duties & Responsibilities: Provide leadership on the project and build working relationships with project staff and PM/CM safety representatives to ensure proper compliance. Conduct accident/incident investigations involving Authority vehicles, facilities, SCR construction sites, employees and/or equipment and assist with accident/incident development of corrective actions as required by the SCR Health and Safety Management Plan. Review and investigate reports on dangerous safety and health working conditions. Review SCR Contractor?s construction work plans & safety task analysis (STAs) for suitability and conformance to project safety expectations. Verify Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available to all SCR PMT employees, and monitor their use of such equipment to ensure proper fit and use. Sample Minimum Requirements: Bachelor?s degree in occupational safety and health, engineering, construction management, or related field from an accredited institution.? Three (3) or more years of experience in construction safety and health or related field. Effective organizational, analytical, multi-tasking, time management and interpersonal skills. Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, communication and report writing skills. The ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and database applications. Substitutions include: An Associates? degree from an accredited university with an additional two (2) years of experience in construction safety and health or related field. A high school diploma with an additional four (4) years of experience in construction safety and health or related field.?
