The Med/Surg float Staff Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Joining our growing staff of over 80 medical/surgical nurses in this unique opportunity to learn and develop.

  • Providing competent nursing care to patients and their families in a variety of inpatient settings including the surgical, medical, oncology and neuroscience inpatient units, which range from 14 beds to 44 beds, with patient ratios of 1:3-4.

  • Potential for cross training in additional areas including Emergency Department, Gastroenterology Procedure Unit (GPU), IV Team, PACU, Center for Ambulatory Treatment & Clinical Research (CAT/CR), and Inpatient Psychiatry.

  • Working collaboratively to provide family-centered care as a member of a multidisciplinary team that provides expert care.

  • Attending to the full range of human experiences and responses to health and illness without restriction to a problem-focus orientation.

  • Providing a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing.

  • Opportunities to be involved in hospital-wide committees and to precept nursing students and new float nurses.

  • 24 hours, 30 hours or 36 hours available.

    To qualify, you must have:

  • BSN degree.

  • 1 year of inpatient acute pediatric medical/surgical RN experience.

  • Ability to work 50% Day/Night rotations, every third weekend, and flexibility of availability required.

  • Additional $5/hour incentive for all hours worked.

    The ICU float Staff Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Joining an innovative critical care float pool to meet the ever changing staffing needs across the Critical Care and Cardiovascular program.

  • Providing competent nursing care to patients (newborn – adult) and their families across all 4 ICUs (Medical ICU, Medical/Surgical ICU, Neonatal ICU and Cardiac ICU).

  • Working collaboratively with all interdisciplinary ICU teams.

  • Day/night rotations, every third weekend, 12 hour shifts.

    To qualify, you must have:

  • BSN degree

  • 2yrs RN experience; minimum 1 year ICU experience. Pediatric experience strongly preferred.

  • Additional $5/hour incentive for all hours worked.
