Actalent Research Associate - Molecular in Boston, Massachusetts

Overview:

Working quite independently, under very general supervision, performs a variety of routine, but sophisticated Molecular

protocols for diagnostic testing.

Job Description:

  • Prepares nucleic acids from patient samples and analyzes quality and quantity.

  • Records all procedures performed and results in laboratory notebooks and computer database.

  • Interprets quality controls on molecular biology assays.

  • Through literature searches and conferences with Laboratory Director, may assist in determining the most suitable methodologies to be used.

  • May develop modifications of existing techniques under direction. May assist in the orientation and training of new laboratory staff.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Chemical, Physical, or biological science from an accredited institution, college or university OR other qualifications as described in the Federal Register, 42 CFR, Subpart M 493.1403 - 1495

  • 0-2 years' relevant experience

  • Coursework in molecular biology and/or genetics strongly preferred. MB (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
