  • The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Floating Hospital for Children is a 10-bed combined medical-surgical unit, prepared to provide complex care to the sickest children ranging from infant through 18 year of age. Our kids have the full range of diagnoses cared for in a PICU; including congenital heart disease, innovative ENT procedures and pulmonary conditions. The interdisciplinary team on the PICU works closely together to provide family centered care to our patients and their families, and prides itself on taking the concept of family centered care an extra step. Parents are not only welcome, but actively encouraged, to participate in the morning rounds and discussions related to their child. Equally as important, is the encouragement employees receive to be fully involved in their own professional development as they progress in their careers. To that extent, Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center has a robust and supportive customized orientation for the novice and experienced nurse. As you complete orientation, you will have opportunities to be engaged in professional development opportunities such as Unit Based Shared Governance (and others).
