  • About the Department of Emergency Medicine (ED): The ED at Tufts MC is a vibrant environment open 24/7/365, caring for more than 50,000 adult and pediatric patients annually, and is responsible for over 40% of Tufts MC's admissions. We operate a full service Emergency Room: Level I Adult Trauma Center, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Pediatric Room and Express Care Center. About the Position: As an RN in the ED you will demonstrate and apply the skills and judgment necessary to implement the nursing plan of care, nursing interventions and procedures necessary for the care of the patient and family based upon critical thinking skills and a spirit of inquiry. The ideal RN utilizes theoretical and evidence-based knowledge while adhering to the standards of nursing practice embedded in research, evidence based practice and/or best practices, and in partnering with patients and their families. As an RN you will be a champion for quality, safety, regulatory and patient-family satisfaction. Utilizing data trends to support and improve clinical practice, the RN provides high quality care in an efficient and safe manner. The RN is a lifelong learner, invested in developing and maintaining their continuing competence, enhancing their professional practice and support achievement of their career goals. Basic Requirements: Current MA RN Licensure is requiredBSN is requiredACLS certification is requiredBLS certification is requiredPALS certification is requiredPrior ED RN experience is required (with preference for Trauma Center experience)Pediatric RN experience is required Preferred Qualifications:CEN Certification strongly preferredTNCC Certification strongly preferred (or required within three months of start date)Prior experience working as an RN in a Trauma Center is strongly preferred Please note: Scheduling may consist of both 8 and 12 hour shifts. Rotation may consist of 7a/p-7p/a, 11p-7a.
