The Cardiac Arrhythmia Center at Tufts Medical Center (Tufts MC) is hiring! This is an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Cardiac Registered Nurse with a passion for patient care and interest in working in a busy academic medical center with some of the nation's top programs in cardiology.
About the Cardiac Arrhythmia Center: The Cardiac Arrhythmia Center at Tufts Medical Center is the region's most comprehensive program for treating the full range of heart rhythm disorders, including those needing medical therapy, ablation treatment, pacemakers and implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICDs).
Our highly specialized electrophysiologists cure many heart arrhythmias using the latest techniques, including radiofrequency ablation and cryoablation, an approach that can eliminate the need for long-term drug treatment in some patients.
Through clinical trials conducted by our cardiac specialists, many patients have access to the latest advances in antiarrhythmic drugs, ICDs, pacemakers and ablation techniques. In fact, our doctors helped write the national guidelines for the evaluation and management of atrial fibrillation and national guidelines for implantation of pacemakers and ICDs.
About the Position: The Professional Registered Nurse (RN) possesses and applies the skills and knowledge necessary for the delivery and management of patient care. The RN is knowledgeable of current trends in healthcare including but not limited to advances in technology, pharmacology, treatment care modalities, quality and patient safety. The RN serves as a patient and family advocate while facilitating a cooperative and collaborative environment among all health care providers. The RN is responsible for the planning, delivery and management of patient/family centered care utilizing the nursing process and adhering to the standards of nursing practice embedded in research, evidence based practice and/or best practices. The RN provides clinical excellence, which fosters and supports an environment central to our patient and family centered model of care.
RN's in the Cardiac Arrhythmia Center also:
Provide follow-up for patients in the Cardiac Device Clinic and Home Monitoring Center of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Center.
Outpatient follow-up of device patients
Provide coverage for Device Management of all inpatients including perioperative programming.
A minimum of (3) years of Cardiac or EP Lab Nursing experience
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
Current MA RN License
BLS certification (Healthcare Provider)
Cardiac Arrhythmia management experience preferred
Experience in Electrophysiology Laboratory and Arrhythmia Center preferred but not required
Please note: Scheduling will consist of weekday day shifts, with variable start times to meet the needs of patients.
