The Physician Informaticist shall be responsible for:
Providing clinical data interpretation, guidance and capture strategies for optimal system platforms design for physician end users.
Providing analytical alignment with clinical strategies for informatics improvement initiatives for clinical delivery.
Serving as a liaison between clinicians, clinical operations, and the Information Systems Department
Providing analysis with clinical, technical and operational teams to support clinical systems upgrades, enhancements and data reporting analytics.
Analyzing and presenting data to influence behavior, stimulate innovation, promote best practices, and drive system optimization for clinical staff.
Working with software vendors to advocate for changes that will improve the user experience and increase the quality of care.
Actively participating in technical and clinical support needs.
Part-time clinical practice within a Department of Boston Children’s Hospital appropriate to the Physician’s speciality
In order to qualify you must have:
A Doctorate degree in Medicine
A Health Informatics Certification or a Fellowship in Health Informatics
Two years’ experience as a Physician within a complex information technology environment, or equivalent coursework
Experience working in health Informatics and Electronic Health Records (EHR) Electronic Medical Records (EMR) technology.
Experience analyzing clinical data, curating and extracting data from databases and/or integrating clinical terminologies in a healthcare IT environment.
Eligibility for appointment on the Medical Staff of Boston Children’s Hospital
Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
The academic faculty appointment will be based upon your primary specialty (e.g. the Department of Pediatrics) at Harvard Medical School. Appointment as an Instructor or Assistant Professor will be commensurate with experience, training and achievements in addition to teaching activities. Candidates are expected to participate in the teaching activities of the Harvard Medical School for medical students, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
