The Reading Room Assistant will be responsible for:
Facilitating and enhancing the working environment of the radiologists by increasing efficiency and productivity.
Serving as the primary greeter for all radiology reading room visitors (included but not limited to physicians, technologists, and staff) and appropriately triaging requests.
Answering and triaging all inquiries while employing excellent customer service and communication skills.
Assisting radiologists with contacting referring providers including paging providers or contacting outside medical offices.
Performing various clerical duties of a complex and technical nature in support of daily radiology reading room operations.
Supporting reading room operations by ensuring imaging interpretation and related requests are addressed in a timely manner.
Providing referring providers with preliminary results and non-critical results.
Delivering messages for radiologists and scheduling consults with referring providers and radiologists.
Triaging protocoling questions from technologists and nurses.
Ensuring urgent matters are appropriately directed to radiologists.
Assisting radiologists in identifying when the daily reading list is getting too long.
Monitoring the undictated exams lists.
Training, orienting and cross-training colleagues in department systems, processes and terminology.
Providing assistance to other support staff in evaluating and resolving related problems and issues.
Participating in and contributing to departmental and organizational initiatives & projects with a focus on continuous process improvement.
Recommending and assisting when implementing change in internal systems and procedures.
To qualify, you must have:
High School Diploma / GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
Previous customer service or administrative experience preferred
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 5:00p – 9:00p
