40 hours a week. Candidate would need availability to work between the hours of 6:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (all 8 hour shifts). Please note that you would also need to be available to cover Saturday clinic (typically only 2x a month).

As the largest and most experienced pediatric and young adult sports medicine practice in the country, the Sports Medicine Division at Boston Children’s Hospital leads the way for innovation in the prevention and care of sports injuries. Orthopedics Sports Medicine

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

a. Patient Encounter Management:

a. Provides positive and effective customer service that supports unit operations.

b. Collaborates with referring providers and practices.

c. Obtains required authorizations to compile patient and staff schedules.

d. Schedules patients and supports the patient encounter

b. Check-In / Check-Out:

a. Greets and directs patients, families, and visitors.

b. Monitors daily schedule and coordinates flow with clinicians /supervisors.

c. Reconciles payments and prepares deposits, provides record of transactions in Hospital systems

d. Facilitates and directs communication with Financial Counseling.

c. Administrative:

a. Maintains personal calendars for physician/supervisor(s).

b. Schedules meetings, programs, and events.

c. Records and forwards messages, triages calls for urgent information or services, initiates call for emergency services.

d. Provides routine clerical support as needed.

d. Process Improvement:

a. Actively contributes to departmental and organizational initiatives & projects with a focus on continuous process improvement.

b. Assists in implementing change in internal systems and procedures.

Required Education: High School Diploma / GED
