  • Management of inpatient plastic and oral surgical patients from newborns to adults. Includes: physical assessment, forming differential diagnoses, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, performance of therapeutic procedures, emergency management, clinical data synthesis and outcomes evaluation, patient and family education. Must be able to function both individually and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary health care team.

  • Assisting with care coordination, monitoring and counseling of patients during the pre and post-operative period, including telephone triage.

  • Performing urgent consultations in collaboration with the healthcare team.

  • Timely discharge planning.

  • Contributing to the knowledge base of the profession and specialty programs through publications, presentations and participation in professional organizations.

  • Position is 36 hours a week, predominantly evening/night shifts and every other weekend requirement (evenings, with occasional rotation to day).

To qualify, you must have:​

  • A Master of Science in Nursing and certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner.

  • MA licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse.

  • 1-3 years of current Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner experience. Pediatric ICU or pediatric inpatient surgical experience preferred.

  • Will consider new graduate NP with 2-3 years pediatric ICU or pediatric inpatient surgical nursing experience.

  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work both individually and with a team. Strong organizational skills, strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail and follow-through. Strong written and verbal skills and EMR competency. PALS certification required in first 3 months.

  • Flexibility in schedule required.
