Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director, External Affairs, the head coach will provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of a competitive program. This includes;

Strong ability to provide overall leadership of the men’s and women’s ski programs

·

Proven recruiter and evaluator at Division I level

·

Lead the development and implementation of training to achieve team and individual performances at the highest levels

·

Ability to create a strong and positive culture within the program

·

Responsible for the supervision and coordination of an assistant coach

·

Maintain high level of academics within the program

·

Manage all aspects of coaching, supervising team practices, competitions, and tournaments

·

Manage all aspects scheduling with competitions, road travel, practices, and workouts

·

Work with sport administrator and Business Office to manage program budget and team travel

·

Ensure compliance with all department policies and guidelines

·

Comply with all applicable Boston College, ACC, and NCAA rules, guidelines, and policies

·

Represent themselves in a manner consistent with positive representation of Boston College

·

In coordination with the sport administrator, coordinates evaluations and monthly meetings of all athletic department support areas including Learning Resources, Strength and Conditioning, and Sports Medicine

·

Provide annual evaluations of student-athletes and assistant coach

·

Coordinate opportunities for student-athletes within the athletic department and the life skills program, on campus, and in the community

·

Plan annual programming to connect, engage and fundraise with former student-athletes, and former and current friends and family of the skiing program

·

Ability to work with Athletic Development office with annual program fundraising campaign Adherence to all University, EISA and NCAA policies and procedures.

Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree is required

·

Competitive intercollegiate experience desirable

·

Knowledge of leading trends in coaching, practices and the appropriate application of technology, where necessary

·

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

·

Ability to work effectively with college student athletes, athletic staff, University personnel and Alumni

·

Ability to lead and inspire others to achieve goals

·

Ability to fundraise and network with alumni

Preferred

·

Two or more years successful coaching experience preferably at Division I collegiate level
