Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians Medical Director in Boston, Massachusetts

Position Summary: The Bowdoin Street Health Center Medical Director is a member of the medical staff at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center who reports to the Executive Director of the health center. The overall responsibilities of this position are to provide direct patient care, improve the quality of care delivered at the health center, insure that the budgetary goals of the health center are achieved, create work environment for clinicians that is supportive, and provide overall clinical leadership.Age Specific Care Requirement: Provides age specific care to adult, geriatric, and/or frail elder populations

Qualifications/Skills & Knowledge Requirements: The Medical Director must be licensed to practice medicine without restriction pursuant to Chapter 112, Section 2 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and must be covered by professional liability insurance in accordance with Hospital policy. Demonstrated skills in staff management, supervision, teaching and instruction skills, and organizational development. At least 7 years of clinical experience and 5 years of administrative experience are essential.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility: The Medical Director supervises the physicians, nurse practitioners and other clinical specialists.
