This Lead Physician Assistant will be responsible for:
Managing PA schedules, including weekly PA/resident OR coverage schedule.
Reviewing and approving time off requests and CME/conference time.
Completing and facilitating annual reviews and check-in meetings for a staff of 12 PAs.
General mentorship and support of PAs; help PAs prepare for and apply for career/ladder advancements over time.
Organizing quarterly PA meetings.
Continuing PA education, organize/facilitate learning opportunities, and PA clinical learning sessions.
Recruiting, hiring all PAs
Onboarding new PAs, manage training, schedules and credentialing documents.
Working with Leadership Team on Human Resource/management items.
Attending Hospital PA Leadership Committee meetings, consisting of monthly meetings, and possible additional subcommittees meetings.
Managing or appropriately delegating other PAs as members of miscellaneous projects within the department/hospital.
Facilitating PA Student rotations.
Attending Faculty Meetings as needed.
Attending weekly meetings with Department Chief and Leadership Team.
Working 40 hours per week: Monday-Friday, four 10 hour shits, rotating weekday off.
To qualify, you must have:·
A Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Physician Assistant.
3-5 years’ experience as a Physician Assistant experience in the operating room and within a clinic setting
Analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experience-based knowledge.
Strong communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and medicated fair solutions, well-developed writing and organizational skills as well as adaptability with an ever changing environment.
