Designing, developing, implementing and evaluating new areas of patient testing in the specific discipline.
Adapting and modifying technology for application unique to the pediatric laboratory environment.
Developing policies, procedures and quality control systems to support new areas of testing.
Analyzing cost and financial impact of new testing.
Developing a program to train and assure the competence and proficiency of technical staff in the theory, interpretation of results and practice of new testing areas.
Training the trainers for newly developed procedures.
May assign projects and activities related to new equipment or test validation and implementation to staff.
To qualify, you must have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Lab Science + 5 or more years clinical laboratory experience
Meets all of level III plus:
Expertise in focused discipline of laboratory medicine
Expertise in innovative and original clinical or scientific research testing
Advanced troubleshooting skills for testing systems including analyzers
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
Certification, Registration, or Licensure Required:
National Certification Required
