Reports to: Director of Federal & State Grants, Programs, and Compliance
The BPS Finance Team ensures that the $1.6 billion all funds budget is effectively allocated and managed to yield the best results for our students. We are looking to expand our capacity to mitigate risks,develop internal controls procedures, and manage and report on expenditures.
The Office of Federal & State Grants, Programs, and Compliances works with program managers and departments across the district to ensure efficient and effective use of external funding to the Boston Public Schools in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. We are looking for a State & Federal Programs Project Manager to support the non-financial requirements of the life cycle of a grant from application to reporting.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Identify staff throughout the district that are or could be responsible for applying for state & federal grants, and develop their capacity to apply for funding
Continuously monitor State and Federal Funding opportunities, designing and overseeing a tracker for prospective grants, pre-award.
Assists to district-leadership in assessing and assigning programs to these opportunities
Cultivates a roster of capable grant development contractors who can be supervised by program applicants to support grant writing
Provides direct technical assistance and coaching to a small group of teams that require additional support to successfully complete the grant application process.
For a select high priority grants, serves as the district’s primary grant writer and application developer.
Qualifications - Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
2+ Experience with technical writing and/or project management
Ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
Qualifications - Preferred:
Experience with applications for state and federal grants
Experience providing trainings
Experience with financial systems and analysis
