This EHS Program Safety Officer will be responsible for:
Functioning as the key EHS contact for the service area reps. Providing key technical guidance and facilitating achievement of program goals & objectives.
Ensuring that the Exec Dir. is apprised of & understands all significant inter- and intra-departmental communications related to EHS matters w/in their sector responsibilities.
Developing & maintaining a measurement system to track performance metrics. Compiling, reviewing, analyzing & interpreting data & communicating with the Committee.
Serving on the Operations Committee that represents his/her service area as the EHS contact & liaison.
Identifying current regulatory challenges & emerging EHS issues that may impact the service area. Obtaining & communicating benchmarking data (e.g., best practices), when appropriate. Staying current with the latest knowledge within his/her service area and technical expertise.
Participating in the development of Hospital-wide & service area specific training & education programs.
Investigating, evaluating & coordinating response to employee, & visitor incidents, accidents & safety concerns.
To qualify, you must have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene or a closely related scientific field is required and a Master’s degree is preferred.
5 years is required Experience. Managing committees in an institutional setting is highly desirable.
Certifications in Emergency Response, Hazardous Materials Management, and/or Safety Management preferred.
