Boston University DENTAL ASSISTANT, Dental Health Center in BOSTON, Massachusetts
Dental Assistant provides support by assisting the dentist in various dental procedures, exposing radiographs , taking impressions, fabricating and cementing temporary crowns, ensuring optimal patient comfort, sterilizing instruments, practicing infection control and OSHA standards in the operatory prior, during and after said procedures. Ensures assigned operatories are cleaned and disinfected. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Collect patients data by reviewing medical history, taking blood pressure and use and charting clinical findings as directed by dentist - Contact patients as needed and reviews schedules for optimal utilization - Reviews and enters treatment plans - Organizes lab cases by monitoring completion dates - Ensures each assigned operatory is set-up and ready prior seeing each patient - Provides patient education by giving pre and post operative instructions including oral hygiene instructions - May be responsible for ordering supplies if needed
Dental Assistant License required
1-3 years of experience and Tech or Vocational training required Prefer Eaglesoft software, digital radiography, intra-oral camera use
