Position Description

The Pearson brand team is looking for a skilled copywriter to support the global roll out of Pearson’s new brand strategy and messaging on a contract basis for the remainder of 2025. This strategic wordsmith will be able to work with colleagues at various levels with confidence and ease and are comfortable flexing their writing for different audiences, including internal employees, B2B, and B2C.

This person will uphold brand governance messaging standards in their copywriting. They will be comfortable translating internal strategy into external-facing messaging and turning research and data into engaging, consumer-friendly copy. As a data-driven storyteller, the copywriter will elevate every asset they touch, including emails, landing pages, websites, blog posts, social media posts, decks, scripts, and ads.

This role will be a key driver in upholding our brand governance messaging standards, ensuring the organization consistently represents our brand in every piece of communication. You’ll be a champion of brand governance, empowering teams to adopt the correct tone and effectively communicate our strategy. With a skill for translating internal strategies into clear, compelling external messaging, you’ll turn research and data into engaging, consumer-friendly content. As a storyteller, you’ll elevate every asset you touch—whether it's emails, landing pages, websites, blog posts, social media content, decks, scripts, or ads—ensuring each piece resonates and supports the brand’s vision.

Please note this is a temporary position that will go through the end of December 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion Pearson’s brand voice by ensuring all written assets meet Pearson’s standards, reviewing copy and guiding content creators to maintain consistency. Provide insightful feedback and escalate any questions to the right stakeholders as needed.

  • Collaborate with brand managers and directors as we roll out the new Pearson brand to provide clear feedback on the messaging and tone of voice to employees who are using it for the first time.

  • Empower and educate employees on Pearson’s tone of voice, offering clear, constructive feedback to ensure everyone is aligned and confident in their communication.

  • Craft compelling copy for diverse touchpoints across B2B, B2C, and internal communications, adapting your writing style to resonate with different audiences and ensure maximum impact.

  • Strengthen brand governance by identifying opportunities for improvement, providing guidance to teams that need extra support, and continuously optimizing our governance system for maximum brand consistency.

  • Partner with the brand team and creative agency to create engaging, consumer-focused copy that supports Pearson's overarching brand strategy.

  • Leverage the power of messaging to bring the Pearson brand to life , tailoring to each medium (social media, websites, email etc), ensuring relevance & engagement.

Key Attributes:

  • 5+ years of experience in copywriting, ideally in an agency or client-side corporate environment

  • Effective copywriting skills for websites, landing pages, email campaigns, social media posts, articles, marketing campaigns, etc…

  • Experience collaborating with designers and interacting with multiple stakeholders.

  • Detail oriented with expert grammar and spelling skills

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and keep team informed of timeline or workload changes.

  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint.

  • Strong analytical skills and creative thinking.

  • Able to operate in a global environment and demonstrate international cultural agility.
