Yours included.This Controlled Substances Compliance Officer will be responsible for:Working under the direction of the Chief Pharmacy Officer with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Legal Compliance Director and serving as a key member of the Controlled Substances Compliance Committee.Collaborating in the creation and leadership of the Controlled Substances Compliance Program with the goals of:Maintaining the highest patient care standardsPreventing diversion of controlled substancesMaintaining legal and regulatory complianceProtecting the health and well-being of BCH employees primarily through BCH policy, quality audits, and staff education.Identifying and conducting drug diversion investigations. Leading complex investigations with the support of interdisciplinary team. To qualify, you must be either a Pharmacist or a Nurse with:Pharmacist: Doctorate in Pharmacy DegreeFor a Nurse: Doctor of Nursing Practice or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with Master’s in Public Health, Master’s Degree in Healthcare Informatics or similar advanced degree.A current licensure and registration by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy or Nursing.3 years’ experience as a hospital pharmacist or hospital nurse and experience conducting drug diversion investigation3 years’ experience performing healthcare related operational, utilization, quality improvement or other quantitative analytical workKnowledge of controlled substance surveillance and management systems, knowledge of medication management systems and technologiesFamiliarity with the causes, symptoms, recognition and treatment of addictionAdvanced skill with utilize database software/tools including MS Access and ExcelKnowledge of dimensional data modeling concepts used in data warehousing and business analytic applicationsStrong communication and leadership skillsAbility to build strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders across the organization Boston Children’s Hospital offers competitive compensation and unmatched benefits, including affordable health, vision and dental insurance, generous levels of time off, 403(b) Retirement Savings plan, Pension, Tuition Reimbursement, and discounted rates on T-passes (50% off).
