Clinical pharmacists (outpatient) at Tufts Medical Center work closely with patients and other health practitioners to meet the various needs of our patients. Pharmacists dispense medication, counsel patients, monitor drug therapies, and provide drug information. They improve the health of patients by providing pharmaceutical care and counseling to individual patients and by serving as a resource to physicians, nurses, and other health professionals. Pharmacists supervise and direct support personnel. Clinical pharmacists must have the ability to work in a busy fast paced environment independently with minimal direct supervision. They must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. The successful candidate must be a graduate of an accredited college or university with a BS in pharmacy or a PharmD degree. The ideal candidate has a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and has previous retail, outpatient, or specialty pharmacy experience.
