This Clinical Nutrition Specialist II will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive outpatient nutritional care to patients in IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) clinic and general nutrition.

  • Assessments including but not limited to developing, implementing and monitoring individualized nutritional care plans, according to hospital and professional standards of care.

  • Documenting assessments, interventions and education in the patient medical record.

  • Collaborating with interprofessional team members, including physician partners, to optimize safest nutrition care plans.

  • Instructing patients and caregivers on prescribed nutritional/diet plan. Serving as a resource and educator for health care providers, students, community dietitians and the public.

  • Working collaboratively with peers and those from other disciplines and patient care settings, and promoting team morale within Clinical Nutrition Services and on patient units.

To qualify, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nutrition and three plus years of progressive experience in Dietetics with at least 2 years in pediatric nutrition

  • Registration by Commission on Dietetic Registration, the Credentialing agency of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as a Registered Dietitian

  • Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a licensed Dietitian.

  • Analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in‑depth, experienced‑based knowledge.

  • Good communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions and well‑developed writing skills

  • Spanish language skills a plus

This position is based in Boston, with two Waltham clinics coverage days per month (2nd and 4th Mondays)

Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
