Exciting position available for a Clinical Nutrition Specialist on our soon to open 12 bed inpatient psychiatry unit at Boston Children’s Hospital @ Waltham. The unit serves children 8-18 years old, many of whom have co-morbid medical problems, e.g. eating disorders, neurological disorders, etc. This person will orient and train on our Boston inpatient psychiatry unit until the Waltham unit opens. Once fully trained this person will also have the opportunity to provide coverage at the Boston campus location.
This Clinical Nutrition Specialist I will be responsible for:
Providing nutritional care to patients on assigned units and clinics
Evaluating the medical, biochemical, and nutritional information and assessing patient needs in order to develop and implement the most appropriate nutrition care plans.
Assisting in the supervision of the daily work of the dietetic technician.
To qualify, you must have:
A Bachelor's degree in nutrition and one year of dietetic experience, preferably in pediatrics.
Registration by Commission on Dietetic Registration, the Credentialing agency of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as a Registered Dietitian.
Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a licensed Dietitian.
Analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in‑depth, experienced‑based knowledge.
Good communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions and well‑developed writing skills.
