Boston University CLINICAL BIOSPECIMEN COORDINATOR, School of Medicine, Computational Biomedicine in BOSTON, Massachusetts
The Section of Computational Biomedicine, Department of Medicine has an opening for a Clinical Biospecimen Coordinator to support the biospecimen operations of the Spira-Lenburg lab for large-scale consortium-based projects. Responsibilities Include coordinating sample shipments with collection sites, receiving, storing and inventorying tissue, blood and other biological samples, data entry and locating and organizing biospecimens for shipment. This position will support the work of the Scientific Program Manager(s), Research Coordinator Team and Principal Investigator(s) within a robust research environment that includes faculty, trainees and staff.
Required Skills
Bachelors degree in a scientific field with 1-3 years experience in research or health-related field. o OR bachelors degree in a non-scientific field with 3+ years experience in research or health-related field.
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Strong written and verbal communication ability
Strong PC skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Data Entry) o Experience with LIMS and freezer-storage software is a plus
Ability to work independently
