Citizens Capital Management Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Description

The Capital Management team is seeking an intellectually curious, highly motivated candidate with strong analytical skills to support various cross-functional objectives within the team. The Capital Management team is primarily responsible for determining the bank’s target capital levels, developing a strategy for capital distribution plans, ensuring the bank maintains adequate levels of capital to protect against potential risks, and providing senior management with key insights into the bank’s performance under a range of economic scenarios. In addition, Capital Management is responsible for allocating capital to the bank’s various business lines and products to support balance sheet optimization and improve profitability.

The Capital Manager will be responsible for providing analytical support around the bank’s annual capital plan and stress testing results, including analysis of business line outcomes and Board reporting; providing senior management and the Board with insights of the Federal Reserve’s supervisory stress test results; analyzing our capital performance in relation to peers; and providing analytical support for ad-hoc requests.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Conduct research and analyses of industry and peer bank data; staying up to date on peer activities including financial results, acquisition related activities, and capital actions.

  • Analyze stress test results and identify key insights of financial performance and risks, which includes attribution and sensitivity analysis to identify core drivers of impacts to financial results.

  • Create and maintain dashboards to evaluate the bank’s capital strategy and overall performance in the context of historical, peer, and forecasted results.

  • Understand changing regulatory capital framework and its impact on the business, including the management of capital, also in consideration of liquidity, stress testing and strategic planning.

  • Assess the impact of new products, regulations, or market developments on the bank’s capital strategy.

  • Provide analytical support around the bank’s annual Capital Plan.

  • Perform analysis of Fed-published CCAR/DFAST results for Citizens and its relative position versus peers and the industry.

  • Complete ad-hoc analyses to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • 3+ years previous experience in financial analysis and data analytics.

  • Strong intellectual curiosity.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to find insights and solutions in ambiguity.

  • Competent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics simply and concisely.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively manage time amidst a variety of responsibilities.

  • Advanced hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau is preferred.

  • Experience using large data sets with solid database management skills is preferred.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40 hours

  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday
