The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Planning, organizing and overseeing daily clinical operations for the ED related to the care of behavioral health patients.

  • Assisting with planning and instituting operational improvements in the ED related to the care of behavioral health patients.

  • Facilitating coordination of care/services to meet patient care and operation requirements.

  • Developing, recommending and applying internal standards, policies and procedures to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care.

  • Assisting with selecting, supervising and evaluating nursing and clinical support personnel.

  • Creating and implementing staff education/development programs.

  • Leading and participating in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary programs, committees and special projects.

To qualify, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing.

  • 5+ years of nursing experience, ED experience preferred.

  • Experience working with pediatric behavioral health patients preferred.

  • Managerial/supervisory experience, preferred.

  • The analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experienced-based knowledge.

  • Strong communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well-developed writing skills.

This position will assist the Emergency Department in managing it’s high volume of behavioral health patients. There has been in increased volume and length of stay for these patient within the ED over the last year. This population requires extensive monitoring and safety precautions during their ED stay. The Clinical Coordinator will oversee the Behavioral Health Subject Matter Expert group leading process improvement initiatives for this at risk population. This position will promote patient and employee safety likely decreasing the number of safety events with this patient population.
