Supervising, performing and overseeing administrative functions of the Ambulatory Neurology Department.
Monitoring and maintaining unit files and records, including confidential and/or sensitive information. Preparing, verifying and monitoring departmental payroll and related records. Collecting and compiling information and preparing reports as required for regulatory and accreditation inspection, management review and special projects
Selecting, training, supervising and evaluating unit's non‑clinical support staff. Developing and implementing work schedules; delegating assignments to meet unit operations and coverage requirements. Conducting annual performance appraisals, monitoring/evaluating employee job performance, providing guidance and feedback and initiating disciplinary and other personnel actions.
Overseeing safety and maintenance of unit's physical environment and ensuring regulatory compliance per hospital policies.
Evaluating Program’s space needs.
Purchasing daily medical and office supply needs. Monitoring supply inventory/budgeting and identifying and communicating trends and patterns to support cost containment.
Ensuring patient satisfaction by providing positive and effective customer service. Monitoring and assessing management and operations for patient satisfaction. Recommending and implementing improvements to service.
Providing non-clinical orientation programs for unit staff. Ensuring all Program personnel are trained in Hospital policies and procedures, as well as in the Hospital's information systems, including follow‑up training and consultations.
To qualify, you must have:
Bachelor's degree required. Study in business or a closely related field highly preferred.
At least two years previous experience, ideally in a healthcare setting. Strong supervisory experience preferred.
Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems OR design relatively complex systems and programs that cross department/divisional lines.
Communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well developed writing skills.
