ABDOMINAL IMAGING RADIOLOGIST
Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC)
The Radiology Department at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC)/Harvard Medical School (HMS) is seeking an enthusiastic physician to join its dynamic team as a full time faculty radiologist in the Division of Abdominal Imaging. The position will include dedicated, regular daytime shifts at the main campus where he/she will interpret a wide range of diagnostic imaging studies, including abdominal plain films and fluoroscopic studies, abdominal and obstetric/gynecologic ultrasound, abdominal and pelvic CT scans and body MRI exams. Abdominal imagers also perform ultrasound-, CT-, and (rarely) MRI-guided biopsies and drainages of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. We welcome candidates eager to lead and develop specific clinical service lines on the main campus. Note that all faculty in our supportive team participate equally in a call pool for after hours and weekend coverage.
The Division of Abdominal Imaging has 12 full-time and 3 part-time highly dedicated faculty members, an ACGME-accredited fellowship (6 fellows per year), and 4 advanced practitioners. Hospital-based facilities span two main campuses and include 7 clinical MRI scanners, 44 clinical ultrasound machines, 12 multidetector-row CT machines, and 2 procedural CT suites. The division treasures its close collaborative relationships with referring services and its contributions to several multidisciplinary conferences per week are highly valued by their clinical colleagues. Translational MRI and CT research projects, including hyperpolarized MRI and dual-energy MDCT, health science services, and radio-genomics are recent and current research endeavors of the Division.
BIDMC is a major Harvard Medical School-affiliated teaching hospital with 649 beds, a Level I trauma center, and well-developed multi-specialty clinical programs, including renowned pancreatico-biliary and OB/Gyn practices, liver transplantation center, specialized IBD clinic, an advanced urology department, and an NCI-designated Cancer Center. Candidates should be excited to work in an academic environment and committed to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
