Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Clinical Educator utilizes principles of adult learning in the assessment, program planning, implementation, and evaluation phases of the educational process. Emphasis is placed on competency skill assessment and development of all clinical staff through identification of learning needs. Coordination and provision of educational offerings including orientation, formal continuing education and inservices, are a major function of this role. The educator serves as a resource to staff of all levels and provides direct supervision of newly hired staff through facilitation of the preceptor model. The clinical educator actively participates in leadership of quality improvement processes through committee membership as designated for area of expertise.

Education/Experience:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Master of Science degree in nursing required. 3-5 years of clinical experience in area of expertise required. Knowledge of educational processes including program planning and implementation required. 1-2 years as a clinical educator or similar role required. Current Massachusetts RN licensure. BCLS. Certification in specialty preferred.
