The Edinburg Center Staff Accountant in Bedford, Massachusetts

STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Bedford, MA

$55,000-60,000K Annually DOE

Hybrid, 4 days on site, 1 day remote

Overview: We are a $37 million nonprofit, community-based agency in Bedford MA seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to play an integral role in our dynamic accounting team. This position reports to the Controller and will be learning about our complex business one step at a time. Initially responsible for A/P and Accrued Expenses, the Staff Accountant will develop a working knowledge of a range of responsibilities within our department to support cross-training and knowledge sharing. The role also involves working alongside the Controller daily for a unique opportunity to learn accounting best practices within a joyful and exciting environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for several accounts, including but not limited to:

  • Prepaid expenses, deposits, and other current assets

  • Fixed assets, booking depreciation and reconciling to the trial balance

  • Reconcile bank statements

  • Prepare documentation for the audit, working closely with the Controller to achieve excellent audit results

  • Payroll upload and other ADP processing

  • This position plays a vital role in the month end close process and must be comfortable working under pressure and be able to meet deadlines

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years' experience in an accounting role

  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to develop and maintain effective working relationships across all levels within the organization

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team depending on the task

  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • High level of computer competency, including experience with MS Office, Accounting software, and Intermediate level proficiency with Excel. Knowledge of Teams a plus. Knowledge of Acumatica a plus.
