MKS Instruments Inc Senior Manager, Program Management Office (PMO) in Andover, Massachusetts

A Day in Your Life at MKS: The Sr. Manager of the OCIO Program Management Office (PMO) would be responsible for leading and overseeing enterprise-wide program governance, portfolio management, process optimization, and Agile transformation across the organization. This role is responsible for driving strategic alignment, ensuring project execution excellence, and enhancing overall program delivery while fostering Agile ways of working. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program and portfolio management, stakeholder engagement, process improvement methodologies, and Agile Methodologies. You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Establishing and managing the PMO framework, ensuring standardization and best practices across all projects and programs.

  • Overseeing planning, execution, and governance of multiple programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Developing and implementing portfolio management strategies to prioritize and optimize resource allocation.

  • Monitoring program and portfolio performance with timely delivery of milestones, within scope and budget.

  • Defining and enforce project management methodologies, frameworks, ad tools to enhance execution efficiency.

  • Establishing key performance indicators in reporting mechanisms to track program progress, risks, and business impact.

  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to streamline program management processes, enhance operational efficiency, transparency, and accountability in program execution utilizing enterprise tools and technologies.

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational policies mitigating risks proactively.

  • Collaborate with senior executives and cross functional teams to align program priorities with strategic objectives.

  • Providing leadership and guidance to project managers and scrum masters, ensuring consistency and excellence in execution.

  • Lead change management efforts, fostering a culture of adaptability and innovation.

  • Communicate program status risks and recommendations effectively to executive leadership.

  • Supporting teams in Agile adoption to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and value delivery.

  • Act as a trusted advisor, guiding reams through change management initiatives.

  • Develop training, coaching, and enablement programs to enhance Agile and program management capabilities across the organization.

Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business project management or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in program management portfolio management or PMO leadership roles

  • Proven track record of successfully managing large scale programs and enterprise-wide initiatives.

  • Strong expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.)

  • Exceptional analytical problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Strong leadership in stakeholder management abilities.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
