Patient Care Analytics is chartered with leading the informatics revolution within the Critical Care healthcare space. This role will be responsible for integrating existing technology and building our future solutions in partnership. As the Senior Director of R&D, you will head the Patient Care Analytics (PCA) R&D department and be a leading member of the leadership team of PCA. You will lead all people management aspects of a large, global, multi-site engineering organization, based in Andover, Massachusetts, with R&D facilities in the Baltimore, Bangalore and Japan. You’ll guide long term direction of technological planning and development and drive the execution, manage the capabilities of the department, motivate and inspire a large global software development organization.
Your main challenges and key responsibilities are to:
Increase pace of innovation and transform to a modern Dev. Ops environment in an on premise / hybrid medical device environment;
Lead, manage and empower more than 100 software engineers, project managers and product owners
Establish, communicate and maintain PCA technology architecture for production technology systems, and ensure that the architecture can support the growing and changing needs of the business;
Supervise research and development projects and drive continuous improvement and measurable, continuously-improving quality;
Establish technical standards and ensure adherence throughout the division, focusing on SAFe agile practices;
Lead the division in anticipating and reacting to major technology changes and mitigating potential issues through the use of an appropriate redundancy strategy;
Assess and recommend technologies in support of company needs and develop technology contingency plans to keep projects on track;
Be a leading member in the business executive leadership, driving and influencing strategic and tactical business wide initiatives.
Interface with other businesses across Philips to drive overall approach and harmonization in the informatics/device interface space.
You will be working in Patient Care Analytics (part of Monitoring and Analytics Business group), reporting to the GM of the business and to the head of R&D for the business group. You will have global team and cross-team interfaces.

A seasoned Software Engineering Director, that considers themselves in the top 5% of transformation management talent worldwide, in innovative technology environments.

Further, we are looking for the following characteristics:
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a technology leadership role, with expert level knowledge in enterprise systems, preferably in a medical environment
Ability to lead Technology and engineering teams (>100 FTE), establishing an environment that develops clear individual goals for team members, reinforcing individual performance in support of overall organizational goals
Solid domain knowledge in medical informatics and proficiency in information integration, intelligent agents, predictive and prescriptive analytics, NLP, and cloud based solutions are required. Practical knowledge of the clinical applications is necessary.
Solid track record in the planning and execution of large R&D projects with good customer satisfaction is a strong plus.
Experience in defining and delivering cost effective, agile, robust, and secure technology solutions
Proven track record in multiple, full life cycle engineering, bringing industry leading products to market
Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment, negotiate challenges, explain technical considerations and recommend solutions
Ability to forecast needs, requirements, and future direction for technology ecosystem.
Experienced in working effectively in a complex collaborative, matrix environment with virtual teams in a multi-cultural / geographically diverse environment
