Community Healthlink Acute Care RN Motivating Youth Recovery in Worcester, Massachusetts

MYR – Motivating Youth Recovery: MYR is a 23-bed acute detoxification and stabilization program (up to 30 days) for adolescents 13-17. The program provides medically monitored detoxification, comprehensive assessment and diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare planning and referral. MYR is a family-centered, strengths-based model that will introduce and engage the adolescent and family members to recovery. MYR through its existing connections to community services for adolescents statewide, will develop comprehensive ongoing treatment planning that will provide continued support and treatment for the adolescent and family upon returning to their community. The program is licensed by The Massachusetts’ Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Abuse Services. A master level clinical director, nurses, master level clinicians, case managers and residential counselors staff the program. The program has 24-hour access to consulting physicians and 2 part-time psychiatrists.

RN will work on adolescent detox and stabilization unit.

  • Provide patient assessments and screenings.

  • Assist with intakes.

  • Implement detox protocols.

  • Supervise residents in unit.

  • Dispense medications.

  • Provide detox relevant education and counseling to residents.

  • Complete required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Assist with the development of appropriate individualized aftercare treatment plans.

  • Assist with and contribute to multi-disciplinary treatment planning.

  • Follow guidelines and procedures established by unit RNs, Director of Nursing and Medical Director

**Experience working in Substance Abuse is a MUST

  • Grade 9B- Valid and current RN license required

  • Commitment to providing outstanding care required.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with adults and/or adolescents and/or experience in a detox setting.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) oral and written communication skills a plus.

  • Must be able to pass a CORI (Criminal Offender Background Check) and a an DCF/CPS (Department of Families Adam Walsh/Child Protective Services background check)
