About Baystate General Pediatrics, a service of Baystate Children’s Hospital, offers a wide variety of primary care and specialty services to pediatric and adolescent patients up to adult age. General Pediatrics is a level III NCQA certified Patient Centered Medical Home facility. We serve over 10,000 pediatric patients with almost 29,000 visits per year in the Springfield and surrounding communities. General Pediatrics is dedicated to providing the very best care for children offering on site evaluations for both physical and mental health needs. The health center is the academic training site for Baystate residents. General Pediatrics is staffed with over 40 providers, including Advanced Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and other health care professionals. Each patient is assigned to a care team comprised of a primary care provider, nurses, medical assistants and other support staff. We are active participants in the Reach out and Read literacy promotion program, and we provide integrated on-site Behavioral Health services with our partners at BHN. The clinic provides patients with treatment and education of chronic conditions such as Asthma, ADHD, Obesity, and many other complex care needs. Specialized clinics include the Lead Clinic, Weight Management and Complex Care Clinic which offer individualized care to patients.
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for:
The Clinical Supervisor serves as the nursing expert for the site
In collaboration with leadership, adheres to Joint Commission standards and acts as a lead in meeting requirements
Managing the clinical practice environment from a "Patient First" perspective
Developing and implementing clinical policies and procedures as applicable to pediatrics
Ensuring compliance with required BH standards
Utilizes available resources within budgetary constraints. The incumbent handles a broad range of day-to-day operational activities, including supervision of clinical staff, actively participates in quality and service improvement, serves on departmental and interdepartmental committees and keeps practice management apprised of the practice's clinical issues and concerns.
The incumbent identifies and implements educational and developmental opportunities for staff, convenes nursing meetings/huddles, oversees clinical staffing and schedules, and provides guidance to management on nursing issues and concerns.
This role serves as a member of the site leadership
Reporting to the Practice Manager, the Clinical Supervisor will demonstrate leadership skills which foster a collaborative, team-based environment and coordinates all issues related to personnel management and staff development including hiring, training, performance management and evaluations for clinical staff including MAs, LPNs and RNs.
What You Will Need:
Massachusetts RN licensure, BSN preferred
5 years clinical nursing experience required
Supervisory or team lead nursing experience required
Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate and work efficiently with leadership and a multidisciplinary team
Good analytical skills, ability to working with data, metrics and Microsoft Office.
