Baystate Medical Center's nationally accredited at http://inspiringquality.facs.org/about/mbsaqip/ surgical (bariatric) weight loss program uses the latest surgical techniques to get the results obese patients desire when diet, exercise, and behavioral change alone don't meet expectations and health needs. Since 1995 our board certified bariatric surgeons have performed over 4,000 weight loss surgical procedures and our program has earned accreditation by the following organizations:

Responsibilities

The Outpatient Ambulatory Surgical Nurse serves as a resource to clinical staff members and will be expected to interact effectively within the health care team to manage and coordinate the patient and family focused care along the continuum of care with effective and efficient use of resources to achieve optimal patient and family outcomes for defined patients and or groups or patients. The nurse will function independently to assess, develop and implement plan of care for complex patients including medical and or psychosocial disorders. Will be expected to provide quality triage and patient care utilizing strong assessment skills, point of care testing and quality assurance checks. The Ambulatory Nurse is responsible for the clinical nursing leadership within the Practice, including the supervision of the team of Medical Assistants which includes responsibility to develop staff, participate in the staff performance evaluation process, implement policies, procedures and standard of care as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts RN licensure

  • CPR required

  • 3 years of surgical nursing experience required.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment,

  • Strong clinical assessment and triage skills

  • working effectively in a team environment is essential.
