Specimen Processing Technician (Marlborough, MA)

Kelly Scientific Resources is seeking a Specimen Processer for one of its top Clients in Marlborough Mass. The Specimen Processor is responsible for processing and storage of cord blood, cord matrix and dental pulp stem cell in accordance with the Laboratory Policies and Procedures to provide timely, professional services for all clients.

Responsibilities

Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed. Study and review laboratory operating manual and become familiar with quality assurance, quality control, safety procedures and operating guidelines for performing laboratory services.

4.Review OSHA requirements for safe laboratory operation.

Perform laboratory services under direct supervision to gain proficiency.

6.Participate in laboratory proficiency testing programs.

7.Maintain appropriate patient and laboratory paperwork.

8.Maintain proper laboratory supply and equipment inventory.

9.Cover weekends and holidays as assigned.

10.Document processing by charting in patient file and computer database and filing clinical documents.

11.Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and calling for assistance from other support personnel when appropriate.

12.Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control and laboratory safety policies and protocols.

Skills

Proficient Oral and Written Communication Skills Professionalism Organizational Skills Time Management Basic Computer Skills Bilingual (Spanish & English speaking) is a plus, but not required

Education/Training:

Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.

Experience:

Prior laboratory experience helpful.
