Role Summary:

The Assistant Medical Director position will be part of a Medical Affairs team of medical professionals providing medical and scientific support to both internal and external customers and respond to information inquiries, address drug safety issues, provide scientific presentations and address medical needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Assistant Medical Director will be based in our US Headquarters location in Marlborough, MA to provide support for commercial activities, research, marketing and safety issues consistent with legal and regulatory requirements. They will have responsibility of acting as a medical expert for one or more of the company’s key products. The successful candidate will have established their reputation through cross functional collaboration and will be recognized as a key partner to their commercial colleagues and seen as adding medical value to the business.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Approval of promotional and other materials in accordance with appropriate regulations, as requested.

  • Prepares and delivers training materials to support internal customer needs as well as continuing training and support of the existing staff on emerging and marketed products and clinical evidence.

  • Acts as the main point of contact for Medical Information & Application Specialists for drug information questions.

  • Collaborates with field Assistant Medical Directors in presenting business case and key clinical evidence to local and regional meetings of key referral groups and other institutions.

  • Develops relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and organizations focusing on Cardiology, radiology and contrast media.

  • Involved in the dissemination of clinical paper summaries, medical standard letters and disease area information.

  • Participates at scientific meetings.

  • Serves on the Educational Grant, IST and Label committees.

  • Provides medical leadership to the Commercial, Marketing, and R&D organizations.

Qualifications/Requirements:

ul>

  • A post-graduate clinical degree and licensed within their respective specialty (e.g. PharmD,MD,PhD) with a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience in medical or pharmaceutical industries.

  • Must be willing to travel within the United States or designated region (minimum of 20%), based on needs of the business. Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in cardiology, radiology or contrast media specialties

  • 3 years minimum of clinical and/or pharmaceutical industry experience.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills to a range of internal and external customers.

  • Good commercial acumen and experience in a commercial environment.

  • Strategic and confident team player with attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with innate desire to build lasting relationships across functional groups with individuals and institutions.

  • Highly organized, self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and prioritize conflicting projects and demands.
