Harbor Health also operates two Programs for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly in Mattapan & Brockton, providing comprehensive healthcare, transportation & social services for more than 550 frail elders who continue to live with dignity & independence in the community & a Woman, Infants & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program. To help further the mission of Harbor, we are looking for a talented Dental Assistant to join our team at the Harbor Community Health Center in Hyannis. Role: The Dental Assistant prepares & maintains all clinical areas for optimal patient treatment, assists chair-side during treatment of patients, ensures that equipment is maintained in operating order & meets standards for health & safety, & implements proper & current infection control duties as per agency procedures & protocol. Responsibilities: Reviews medical chart with provider, performs intake on the patient & documents in Electronic Dental Record (EDR) following protocols. Prepares all clinical areas for treatment planned each session Provides chairside assistance to Dentists in all procedures in accordance with training. Enters relevant patient information into EDR in accordance with training & protocol. Provides post op instructions to patients regarding their procedures. Implements daily infection control procedures in compliance with CDC &/or state specific infection control practices. As directed, or in accordance with state law & HHSI protocol, exposes radiographs & duplicates radiograph when necessary Performs routine maintenance on equipment. Maintains checklists & logs on equipment, oxygen tanks, eyewash stations, code bags as required by HHSI protocol. Enters data & maintains the electronic lab log tracking all dental prosthetic cases in accordance with protocol & training. Prepares all clinical areas for clinic closing in accordance with protocol. Provides guidance & support to Dental Assistants in training as needed. Monitors inventory & ensures that inventory is maintained by following established protocols. Due to operational necessity, may be required to report to another location or remain at work to provide coverage. Requirements: High School Diploma with course work in business, biology & some chemistry. Dental Assisting Certification from an accredited program preferred. Current Massachusetts Dental Assistant License required Radiology Certification required or verification from BORID (Board of Registration in Dentistry) of approval to take Radiographs required Current BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) required All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status. *\$1000.
