Position Purpose:

Provides clinical services to clients/patients and their families to improve their functioning. Works as part of an inter-disciplinary team to evaluate and assess individual treatment for clients, patients, and their families.

Job Description Details:

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Psychosocial Assessment.

  • Treatment Planning and Treatment.

  • Discharge and Transition Planning.

  • Facilitates therapeutic clinical groups on the units.

  • Practices according to relevant regulations and standards.

  • Maintains professional relationships and boundaries with patients, co-workers and the community.

  • Maintains commitment to continuing education and professional growth.

  • Works effectively in managed care environment.

  • Participates in Utilization Management activities.

  • Serves as a preceptor to other clinicians for the purpose of training and orientation

  • Supervises student interns as appropriate by educational affiliation and training.

  • Serves as a consultant to Clinician I’s and provides follow up and/or remedial training to on any identified care or quality issue.

  • Maintains licensure and credentials through the attainment of necessary CEU’s and complies with all internal credentialing procedures.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Minimum Requirement: Masters Degree in a Human Service Related Field.

  • License eligible preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience or 2 full academic year internships.

  • Requires good organization, documentation and communication skills.

  • Broad clinical expertise with knowledge of theoretical approaches and interventions required to meet the needs of a diverse client base.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May involve on-call, weekend coverage or other flexibility in work schedule.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to Director, Social Services.

  • Has no responsibility for the direct supervision of any other employees.
